ODC Dance is inviting first responders battling the Camp Fire in Butte County to be their guests at an upcoming performance of its holiday classic “The Velveteen Rabbit.”. The announcement comes after the company was recently forced to cancel a community meet-and-greet with cast members of the production because of continued poor air quality in the Bay Area due to the fire, which has killed more than 70 people and destroyed thousands of homes and businesses. “As a community-driven organization, we are concerned for the health and well-being of all Bay Area residents and are deeply moved by the dedication of our firefighting community to the safety of others during these devastating times,” said Carma Zisman, executive director of ODC. “As a token of our appreciation to these first responders and their families, ODC would like to provide respite through dance and holiday tradition.”.
